as downlinks are discovered. Skynet 5C is the third and final of the 'new generation' of British Military communications satellites. It was launched on June the 12th, 2008 by Arianne-Space from Kourou. Skynet 5C (#33055) is currently parked at its geostationary slot of 17.88 degrees West. Currently, the X-Band TT&C and S-Band beacons are active, with X-Band transponder testing underway. The X-Band TT&C beacon was activated around 11:30 BST on the 26th June 2008. |
